Mobile Technology

Mobile technology is one of the newest and most exciting technologies out there. The screens are getting smaller, but the possiblities are getting much larger. Mobile technology allows cell phone owners to play interactive games and have incredible amounts of information right at their fingertips.

Going on a trip? Don't want to carry around a heavy book full of tourist attractions and map information? Today, you can plan ahead by downloading software to your cell phone that can hold all the information you need. An example of this is a map of New York right on your cell phone. Take a quick look at this site and see what is available to be viewed on your cell phone screen. http://www.virtualnyctour.com

Who is Currently Supporting This Technology?

Many companies have already joined Flash to create supported cell phones; Nokia, Verizon, T-Mobile and Motorola.

Macromedia is working hand in hand with some major companies to develop a complete mobile networks. Take a look at Macromedia's website for more information about what is happening now. http://www.macromedia.com/mobile/

Podcasts

Podcasts are a cutting edge technology that allow anyone with a voice their very own radio show. The only accessories needed to run this is a microphone, some free downloadable software, and of course, a computer.

Your show will be broadcast through the internet and is downloadable to any mp3 player or hard drive. What makes this technology better than the radio? You can chose what you want to listen to, skip over the boring stuff, listen at any time and save it for later.

According to Wikipedia's definition of podcasting, " A podcast is a web feed of audio or video files placed on the Internet for anyone to subscribe to. Podcasters' websites also may offer direct download of their files, but the subscription feed of automatically delivered new content is what distinguishes a podcast from a simple download or real-time streaming. "

In my opinion, podcasts are a sweet new technology which is revolutionizing the public voice and allowing us all an equal oportunity to be heard. They represent an unfiltered, unmonitered chance to let the world know what we are made of.
